How can we improve Seesmic for Android?

Add a black theme

I love the UI of Seemic Android; However, the white theme is a bit bright and tends to drain battery with extended use. I think a black theme/background would look excellent.

Seesmic is one cool social network app in one I hope you guy gives us the choice to choose 'default or dark theme' in the next update cos I'm so used to all my apps being inverted and I really love the convenience and the loading speed of Seesmic!

Dark themes are just awesome! Can't wait to have that on seesmic

Many of displays of android phone. are AMOLED in current days, so the blakc or dark theme is very effective for saving batteries.

I don't understand how changing the the colour saves baI don'tbattery life.
My screen is backlit and uses just as much power if screen Is all black as when all white. Only brightness levels affect power consumption IME.
One of reasons I switched back to Seesmic from another client was that although the other client was functionally muchore sophisticated it had a white/coloured text on black theme and was very difficult to read in strong light or 'normal' or smaller font size. Null points

Yes..black theme would really make this app stellar and take the strain off the eyes and battery.

I concur with this - I just downloaded Seesmic for Android to check out after hearing Loic on TWIT (use desktop version) however immediately removed when I discovered no ability to change the colors. I have been using Tweetcaster on my phone and one of the main factors is the ability to have white letters on a black field - easier to read, less battery usage and pictures pop. WIll check back, but until a black theme is added, will have to pass on Seesmic for Android.

Yea I agree 1000% on this!!! To be able to select color themes would be awesome and if it helps on the battery then that's a BIG plus!!! It's a no brainer idea idk why it hasn't been an option all along!!

+1 here. The option of a dark theme or a customizable one would be great

It would just be nice to adjust background/font colors as each user wants...seems like other similar apps have some level of color customization. Really like all the flexibility of colors you get with SMS Pro as an example.

+1 Here. It is the only thing keeping me away at this point. (Would like to see a better Facebook setup similar to Tweetdeck, but that is for another day)

And I don't mean a white-on-black circus theme like Plume, but a 100% white on 100% black theme like twidroyd. I'm an android developer too... must be simple as cake to implement.

      • mehmeh commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I definitely want this. It's the reason I paid for twidroid and still keep using it even tho it sucks now.

My wife and I have different schedules and I use my phone a lot in the dark with lowest brightness setting. My android device is way easier on the eyes to read and emits even way more less light with a white-on-black color scheme in apps. Seems silly perhaps but for me it's just a must-have feature.

+3 from me too. A red/white on black theme would look cool. Save on battery too. This is what I like about Twidroyd, Plume, Tweetdeck etc.

plus a million. A blacked out Seesmic would look hawt!
