t.co is good so long the twitterapp expanded it and shows the prewview or the pic (like twitlonger) - Plume does it, Ubertwitter does it, and much more. why Seesmic not???

This is a key usability issue - and there is plenty of white space to spare on individual tweet screens. Swift/Hootsuite does this very neatly (though it falls short in other areas) - well worth emulating.

There are many Android Twitter clients which already do this. This is a very important feature, please add it!

But why install an app when the client could do it for you? Practically all URLs posted on Twitter are shortened, there's no better place to put a feature like this than in a Twitter client. There actually is another Twitter client that does this, but other than that one feature, I prefer Seesmic.

All it has to do is fetch the headers (and preferably continue doing this until it stops getting redirected, in case a URL is shortened multiple times). Maybe fetch the page to get the title. It would fit in quite nicely on the single tweet view between the meta info and the buttons at the bottom. Might be best if this were done on request.

there's an app that does this for you called Check Web Redirect. Check it out!
