How can we improve Seesmic for Android?

Background updates no longer work

After updating to 1.7.6 background updates no longer work. I can only update tweets when in the application itself. This is on a Sony Xperia Play running 2.3.3.

        I have reverted to 1.7.5 (using Titanium Backup) and my background updates have started working again.
