Bug report: Seesmic 1.5 keeps my phone from sleeping
After upgrading to 1.5, I noticed my battery was drained very quickly, and that Seesmic is at fault. Playing around with the settings, it seems that the phone won't sleep if background updates are disabled. Turning them on, the problem seems to go away.
Sony Ericsson X10 Mini.
This was fixed in v1.5.1. Thank you for your feedback.

You can also kill the Seesmic app with a task manager after you're done using it. That's what I'm doing currently. I forgot how much I don't like Touiteur anymore.

Also... turning notifications off doesn't work. I still have my battery drained. I'll have to revert to Touiteur as well (and that's a shame cause they got ads now). Hope you fix it soon.

I should mention that this happens with or without background updates enabled.

I have the same problem. The latest version of Seesmic (1.5) is seriously the best Twitter app, but it drains the battery by preventing the phone from sleeping, so-called "partial wake-lock." This is verified with the "Spare Parts" app (free on the Market). Open it up and tap "Battery history," tap "Other usage" and select "Partial wake usage" from the drop-down menu.
I lose like 45% battery overnight, and that's in airplane mode. Have to revert back to Touiteur until fixed. Custom ROM: VwE 1.2 (Android 2.1), Moto Cliq.

What do you mean by keeping the phone from sleeping? The screen doesn't turn off?
Can you try with background updates disabled and see if this still happens?
Also, don't forget to mention your device, Android version and if you're using a custom ROM.
Let us know. Thank you. -

This is happening to me as well. If I launch seesmic, it will keep my phone from sleeping until I kill the app which I don't like to do. Uninstalling and re-installing did not fix the issue. This has been happening since the last update.

After having had background updates enabled for a while, the problem returns.

I have the same issue. Ever since I updated, my battery drains very quickly. I have a Motorola Dext with Android 1.5.
