no character limit - ping fm was able to hold a complete thought - if twitter doesn't want to play too bad - you have ruined this tool for me

I agree. I liked Ping the way it was. Seesmic is as ineffective as twitter. Totally would prefer a "No character limit"

Ditto. Sometimes I need to send longer posts to sites that don't have a character limit. If I have to back up and go to each one and tailor make my posts for each place I don't really see much need for Seesmic.

...still waiting to see what you are going to do about this.
we haven't been able to "ping our posts" to followers since this character limit has been established AND i already deleted our ping.fm account based on its announced discontinuation.
ummm??.... right now, we're losing money as well as followers not being able to update them daily, because our posts are considered too long.
